Job Description
SUMMARY
The Rialto Square Theatre is seeking a part-time dedicated and experienced House Manager to oversee front-of-house operations and ensure outstanding guest experiences. The House Manager will be responsible for supervising front-of-house staff, coordinating with full-time and part-time staff and volunteers, and implementing customer service and safety protocols. This position is essential in maintaining the theatre's reputation for excellence in customer service and event execution and will require the ability to work a varied schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Patron Experience & Customer Service: Foster a welcoming and professional environment for all guests. Address patron concerns and resolve issues efficiently.
Front-of-House Operations: Supervise ushers, ticket takers, and other front-of-house staff. Oversee lobby, seating areas, and concessions to ensure smooth operations and maintain high service standards.
Event Coordination: Collaborate with other day of event leadership to monitor and manage audience flow, seating, intermissions, and show start times effectively.
Safety & Emergency Procedures: Implement and enforce theatre policies and ensure a safe environment for patrons and staff.
Accessibility & Compliance: Ensure compliance with ADA regulations and provide assistance to patrons with special needs.
Facility Oversight: Maintain cleanliness and organization of all front-of-house areas. Coordinate with maintenance teams as necessary.
Reporting & Communication: Document incidents, prepare post-show reports, and communicate operational updates to theatre leadership.
Other related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Shared oversite of front-of-house staff. Carry out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Shared responsibilities will include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS

Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays based on the theatre's event schedule.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
2+ years of experience supervising or managing front of house operations in a live-event environment required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Applicant must possess current, valid driver's license and a current working home telephone with a number that can be accessed by building management personnel for business contact purposes.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to speak and understand English.
Ability to communicate utilizing two-way radio equipment.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as instructions, policies and procedures.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to maintain a calm, composed presence in an often fast-paced environment where multiple tasks, events and stimulus may occur simultaneously.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and react appropriately.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to remain at assigned position until relieved or dismissed.
