My client is seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Supervisor to join their leading food manufacturing company focused on delivering safe, high-quality products.

This role is ideal for an experienced QA professional with a passion for food safety and leadership, ready to take the next step in their career.

Position:

The Quality Assurance Supervisor serves as the food safety coordinator and quality advocate for the facility. You will support the quality control function, ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and drive food safety initiatives.

The role reports to the Regional Quality Assurance Manager and involves managing a team of 13 QA Technicians and sanitation staff. Typical hours are Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM, with flexibility to work weekends and cover shifts as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures and company programs.
• Lead quality and food safety programs, ensuring compliance with HACCP/HARPC standards.
• Promptly report any food safety concerns to QA Management.
• Implement and manage food safety corrective actions.
• Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of the SQF System as the site SQF Practitioner.
• Train facility personnel on GMPs, prerequisite programs, and food safety system elements.
• Maintain document registers and ensure accurate documentation.
• Serve as the primary contact during regulatory, customer, and third-party audits.
• Foster a culture of quality and safety across the facility.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of QA experience in food manufacturing.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience in quality assurance.
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, including USDA standards (preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (Access experience is a plus).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proven leadership and attention to detail in managing teams and processes.
• Ability to handle confidential information and maintain employee privacy.
• Flexible schedule to meet operational needs.
• Must obtain SQF, HACCP, and PCQI certifications within a reasonable timeframe.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (not required but preferred).
• Prior experience in food manufacturing with USDA-regulated products.
• Existing SQF, HACCP, or PCQI certifications.
• Experience managing diverse teams and collaborating across departments.

Work Environment

• Fully on-site role, split between an office setting and a wet/cold production floor.
• Fast-paced environment requiring strong organizational and multitasking skills.
