Hansell Tierney is assisting our client, a private and long-established family office, with their search for a House Manager to oversee the daily operations of two residences on the Eastside. This is a well-defined, high-trust role supporting a highly organized principal and family who value structure, professionalism, and discretion. Position Overview This House Manager will oversee the upkeep and daily operations of two meticulously maintained properties. The role is highly structured and guided by an existing house manual and operating procedures developed by the principal over two decades. This is not a role in flux, it is steady, clearly scoped, and highly valued by the household. Key Responsibilities Household Operations & Oversight (Primary Residence) Maintain day-to-day operations of a large private residence, ensuring all systems and spaces function seamlessly Serve as daily point of contact for the principal Manage household inventory, including cleaning supplies, backup light bulbs, batteries, and seasonal items Schedule, coordinate, and oversee vendors and service providers; ensure timely, high-quality execution of maintenance tasks Conduct routine walkthroughs and property inspections to proactively identify and resolve issues Track and manage household calendars, maintenance logs, and extensive documentation manuals; update materials regularly Plan and manage special household projects Prepare and organize gear and materials for travel Coordinate light support for occasional private gatherings or events; manage seasonal décor and special requests as needed Household Support (Secondary Residence) Provide light oversight of the secondary residence and coordinate with executive housekeeper Offer occasional support for small household tasks Liaise with housekeeper and vendors to ensure ongoing upkeep and cleanliness Staff & Vendor Coordination Supervise and collaborate with household staff and third-party vendors, ensuring clear communication and accountability Schedule and oversee service visits, repairs, and specialty maintenance (e.g., HVAC, security systems, lighting, landscaping) Review service quality, negotiate vendor contracts as needed, and manage relationships with external partners Travel & Absence Preparation Assist in travel preparation by organizing non-personal items Maintain clear records of packing inventory and destination details for each trip General Estate Management Uphold discretion, professionalism, and high standards of service in all interactions Identify opportunities to streamline or improve household operations Maintain readiness for occasional off-hours or emergency needs, typically limited to 1-2 times per year Ideal Profile Proven experience in House Management for UHNW households or similar luxury environments Professional maturity and presence; anticipates needs and executes with precision Familiarity with high-end home systems and finishes Yachting or private aviation experience (chief stew, etc.) also a plus Strong documentation habits and love for process and order Trainable to household-specific expectations with humility and polish Qualifications 5+ years of relevant House Manager or estate experience Strong judgment, problem-solving, and service orientation Excellent communication and organizational skills Comfortable working in low-key, high-discretion households Able to lift up to 50 lbs and manage physical aspects of property upkeep Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Must be COVID-19 vaccinated Must sign an NDA prior to the interview process Compensation & Benefits Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401(k), FSA, EAP, and more Additional Details Location: Bellevue, WA (Onsite) Eligibility: US citizens and those authorized to work in the US are encouraged to apply.
